My Lords, Ladies, gentlemen, geeks, gamers and all-round good eggs, it's that time of year again. The time we all hate as the squeeze is once again put on our finances and we realise that our meagre pay packets are going to contain more moths than money over the coming year. Sob.
Still, I like to do my bit to try and cheer everyone up, or at least take their minds off it. So, for the fifth year running, I'm having my very own Budget Day, where I spend all day playing and writing about 8-bit budget games for the Commodore 64 and Spectrum, and anything else I'm recommended.
I am happy to say that as of right now, the House is in session!
I've got a huge list of games lined up. Huuuuge. I've taken recommendations... some of those, I've already played for a previous Budget Day, or even just to write about. So whether I play them again or not will remain to be seen. Depends how I feel, I suppose... sometimes I like to have a go on something familiar.
I also have a load of games I'd like to try which were on last year's list. Budget Day 2014 was wrecked for me by a disastrously bad toothache. I only wrote about one game, and spend the rest of the day walking around the house, crying and punching walls. Thankfully, that's not happening this year (fingers crossed!).
So, without further ado, I'm off to play the first game of the day. Once I've decided what that is, of course...
Oh, please spread the word about this if you can. Obviously, I'd love as many people to read it as possible!
