A productive week off!

by Paul Morrison

I love it when a plan comes together.  I did hope to get some good work done on the book this week, and I have.  I managed to email questions to four, yes four of our Gods, for starters.  Let there be no illusion about this achievement... writing a full set of questions for someone takes real time and effort.  You think of a programmer you'd like to talk to.  Then think of all their 8-bit games.  Then think of, say, half a dozen questions about each game, plus a few more general questions.  Now try and make them at least reasonably interesting for the recipient.  See how long it takes you...

Anyway, I'm very pleased with that, and I might even get a fifth out by the end of the weekend.  I've also worked on some page formatting.  I made a page that looks quite nice, but now I've decided I'm not as happy with it as I could be.  I've been reading lots of old computer magazines lately, and while I don't particularly want to steal their designs outright, I've definitely given myself some fresh ideas on how to make things look nicer.

Hopefully I'll get to work on that sort of thing soon.  Unfortunately, real work calls me back next week, so I'll only have a bit of time in the evenings.  Still, I love feeling that surge of enthusiasm that comes from being so productive.  Once you get on a roll the momentum can really carry you along.  Now, who's next...
