Recapturing My Youth

by Paul Morrison

What's this?  Another blog?  What's this all about, then?  The other one isn't exactly prolific at the moment, is it?

Well, that much is true.   The thing is, with the blog of the book, I'm at a stage where I risk repeating myself with a lot of what I can say.  And that would make for a very boring blog.  Having said that, there is a lot going on with They Were Our Gods, so regular progress updates will most certainly be posted.  Little will change there, don't worry.  I've just made a decision to make less waffley posts so that there's not a lot of repetition.

So what is the point of Recapturing My Youth?  Well, it's intended to be a fun little side-blog.  I've taken to buying as lot of old 8-bit computer games on eBay lately, and I thought it might be fun to make little blog posts about them.  I'll take a few photos and do a short write-up of each game... people like looking at that stuff.

There's no real rhyme or reason to what I buy.  Sometimes I'll buy a game I really loved when it was first released (hence the title), others may be impulse buys of bargains or bundles.  I'm buying them, in the main, because I have a thought in the back of my mind that I might use pictures of some of them in the book.  I might not, but it doesn't hurt to have these games to hand, just in case.

It'll be a fun way to keep things ticking over and keep adding stuff to read while I'm working on meatier book stuff that might not actually justify a blog post.  I think that any way to add content of interest can only be a help, so I hope you all enjoy it!
